Bongo Bongo
The outrageously desirable decanter-as-bong you just gotta get.
Jim Beam had a problem on their hands with vodka. It was after the war, and sales lagged on barrels of well-aged whiskey. Call it a novelty, gift, collectorsʼ item, or an effective ploy for moving product, mostly in the 60s and 70s. Find them now in dusty vintage shops. Jim Beam produced approximately 1,500 different figures, and many other spirits producers around the world jumped in too.
The clever thing? Vintage decanters have removable heads or tops, revealing a lovely mouth-sized hole; they're water-tight and opaque, to hide the visual horror of dirty bong water. Yes, with minimal modification, youʼre both the talk of the room and ready to rip a toke.
Note: The decanters shown here are part of a larger collection available as bongs. info@hiiimag
